Travis Kelce had nothing but praise for his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, after the singer announced last week that she bought back the rights to her first six albums.
Kelce spoke about the massive milestone on the latest episode of “New Heights,” the podcast that he co-hosts with his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce.
Shaquille O’Neal, who appeared on the podcast as a guest, started playing Swift’s song, “I Knew You Were Trouble” and dancing to Swift’s music on the podcast.
“That’s my favorite song in the world, brother,” the basketball star said, as the 2012 hit played.
“Shout out to Tay Tay,” Travis Kelce said with a smile. “Just got that song back too. Just bought all her music back so it’s finally hers, man. I appreciate that, dog.”
Fans in the comments of the podcast account couldn’t get enough of Travis Kelce’s swift reaction to the song, and had everyone saying the same thing:
“I’m sorry, did Travis just instantly recognize that as the OG and not TV??” one commenter wrote.
Another added, “why did this make us emotional 🥹 also Travis clocked that it was the OG version soooo fast.”
“This is the sweetest thing EVER! also did trav js recognise the og version by like 10 seconds?!” another fan added.
Swift made the emotional announcement about her music on Friday, six years after her catalog was sold for $300 million to investor Scooter Braun. Swift referred to the sale at the time as “my worst-case scenario.”
She explained how much buying back her music meant to her in a post on her website.
“All of the music I’ve ever made ... now belongs ... to me,” Swift said last week. “And all my music videos. All the concert films. The album art and photography. The unreleased songs. The memories. The magic. The madness. Every single era.”
