The 2025 BET Awards aka “culture’s biggest night” featured the best and brights in Black entertainment on Monday night.
Kevin Hart returned to host the festivities, which marked the 25th anniversary of the annual award show. The network’s event kicked off live at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater on Monday with a star-studded Black tie red carpet featuring a ton of flashy looks.
This year, Kendrick Lamar was the most nominated artist with 10 total nods, including Album of the Year for “GNX” and Video of the Year for his hit diss song, “Not Like Us.” Other nominees included Drake, Doechii, Future, GloRilla, SZA, The Weeknd and more.
In place of its usual Lifetime Achievement Award for one single honoree, this year BET chose four Ultimate Icons of music and entertainment to honor: Mariah Carey, Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg and Kirk Franklin.
The ceremony also featured another special segment to celebrate the show’s quarter anniversary: an in-show musical tribute to “106 & Park,” BET’s legendary, culture-defining music video countdown show, which ran from 2000 to 2014. Former hosts Free, Terrence J, Julissa Bermudez and Keshia Chanté reunited for the nostalgic event, which featured performances from fellow former host Bow Wow, as well as Amerie, B2K, Jim Jones, Mya and T.I.
